The artstudio
Tattooing is one output of the same practice. Danny paints, draws and puts murals on walls around the valley — and the drawing that goes into a portrait is the drawing that goes into everything here.
Originals, studies and walls
Some pieces are available, some are commissions, some are on the side of a building. Anything marked available can be bought — ask at the shop.
You cannot render light on skin if you have not spent years failing to render it on paper.
Black and grey realism is a drawing problem before it is a tattooing problem. Everything that makes a portrait read — where the light lands, how soft a shadow has to be to sit behind a cheekbone, how much contrast to hold back so the piece still works in thirty years — is learned with a pencil, not a machine.
That is the honest reason this page exists. It is not a hobby section. It is the practice the tattoos come out of, and if you are considering a portrait it will tell you more about whether we can do it than a gallery of fresh tattoo photos will.
Murals and original work
Danny takes a limited number of painting and mural commissions each year — interiors, storefronts, private work. If you have a wall or an idea, email the studio with the location, rough dimensions and any references, and we will come back with whether it is a fit and what it would involve.
Original pieces and prints come and go. The mailing list is the only place we announce them.
